Dentists and all that

Hello, Dentists, good or bad? I have had a bad time of it lately with the misanthropic greed of two dentist practices who have capacity for private patients but no capacity for NHS patients even though both my partner and I were on their books, they chucked us off! But would take us back as private! Its not as if NHS patients are treated for free, a small filling would pay the dentist at least £50 on the NHS, privately that would be around £90, a filling takes around 20 mins so you are looking at around £150 an hour for NHS dentists, even with overheads, staffing etc it's not a bad living. So its a case of having a very good living, NHS dentist, and having a fucking exorbitantant living, private dentist.
Anyway as a result of friendship, a dentist is now giving both myself and Manuela treatment as NHS patients. That is even better news as it also includes my 4 month old son, who couldn't get NHS dental treatment in Swansea, even though he is entitled to free care until age 16. I had a letter from my MP enclosing a letter from the AM responsible for NHS in Wales, an ex GP called Gibbons, in the garret, an oblique reference. He just stated that they had put blah blah amount of £Millions in to NHS care and that it was just fucking great. His final paragraph stated that there are no NHS dentists in Swansea currently, even for my son.

So thank you very much my lovely lovely new dentist and friend, and fuck you NHS, Private Dentist Bandits and all who live within your Habitat covered halls.

I hate dentists! Well done Huw for making this a public issue!

I haven't had a dentist for about 5 years. The last time I had a flying lesson in a light aircraft was 4 years ago. That lesson cost £100 and we flew to Jersey and back. My last visit to the dentist cost me £96 and I had three mercury fillings replaced by three ceramic fillings, all of which fell out within 2 years. I ask you: which was better value?

Dentists are scum, liars and traitors to humanity!

Dentists, poor poor dentists with their Mercedes Benzes and golf clubs and fat pensions and platinum plated testicle cups.

I know it is an old post, but you are well off the mark. I am a dentist I get payed about £10 for a filling on the NHS. That has to cover all costs, to make 60k you have to gross about 150k. A huge amount of fillings I think you will agree. You can make good money but only if you churn out crap work and don't invest in equipment and pay staff minimum wage. I refuse to take any subsidy from the government, they have control over everything I can do. And I have to take out all the bank loans and risk.

Ps I have a ten year old car and rusty golf clubs.
